a farmhouse friday HOUSE TOUR!! Say Wha?

Okay, so not too long ago, I featured this sweet little brick farm house, found in my travels, on my farmhouse friday feature:

Well today you get to take a tour of this house, via the lovely world wide web, courtesy of Redfin and John L. Scott Real Estate. Have you guys ever played around on Redfin?  It’s a great website that scoops up all the houses for sale via real estate companies (and people can post FSBO as well), and brings them to you all on one fully searchable website with loads of helpful neighborhood/school info, stats and statistics, and photos too.

Plus, you get to snoop inside sweet digs.  Did I just use the word “digs” correctly?

So anyway, here is the link to this home on Redfin, so go and take a tour of this amazing little gem.  I’m calling it little even though it’s more than twice the size of my place.  It’s just because it’s so dang cute!  The bones in this house are pretty amazing.  Of course there are things that I would change, paint, and ironically, make a little more “farm housey” due to some of the circa 1990 updates in the bathrooms mainly.  The kitchen is pretty swoony.  And that last picture KILLS me.  Leave a comment and tell me what you think of one of my favorite homes.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another room reveal post!  For reals this time.  The post is 90% finished!

Blessings!

PS. Of course, I the lowly little blogger, am not affiliated with RedFin or John L. Scott in any way.

farmhouse friday { 9 }

While picking up the kids from my mom about an hour away (Mom lives out of town so we meet in the middle) (now I’m gonna have that country song stuck in my head), I was rescued from failing you on this farmhouse Friday!

I pulled a u-turn after I drove past this…

This little gem hides just off the highway, behind a bramble bush (I don’t know what that is but it sounds like a Southern way of saying sticker bushes).  People are living in another place behind it so I’m not sure what the status is.

But the status should be a little love and a little elbow grease!

farmhouse friday { 8 }

This is a sweet brick farmhouse in my parents' valley.  I had to keep with the black and white tradition, but that window trim is the sweetest blue! <3

Just in the nick of time, a great renovated farmhouse.   Always been a favorite.

But such a goodie. Oh I wish I could have seen it back in the day!

friday farmhouse { 5 }

This edition, my friends, is an all-time favorite.

This is a farmhouse out in the wilds near my parents’ place.  I would guess that it actually was a farm house back in the day, before the valley was broken up into smaller vacation properties.  It has been lovingly taken care of over the years and hubby and I have always admired it and said we would buy it some day.  Though it’s current owners obviously have a deep affection for it, so that should prove difficult to impossible!  I love the porch (complete with tulip chairs) and it actually has a sweet little matching garage, as well.

We are thinking about re-siding our house this year, and this will be my style guide for siding, window trim and corbels.  Love it.  But, of course, mine will be white-on-white!

There’s even a porch swing.  It’s calling for some sweet iced tea.

friday farmhouse { 2 }

So thanks to a Bestie I remarkably remembered to post this today.   I knew I'd be bad at this regular posting thing!

But never fear, here in the nick of time, another farm house for your viewing pleasure...

Oh, what a coat of paint could do!

new! ~ farmhouse friday

so I am going to be brave and fight against my nature and start a weekly topic post.

I might never post another Farmhouse Friday feature ever again.  Or I might be super good at it, succeeding in my plan of forcing myself to document all the local farmhouses I am in love with so I will someday have tangible file of inspiration when/if we get to someday build a new farmhouse that looks old.  ORRRRR, I might post farmhouses here on sporadic Fridays sometimes but not so regular.  The latter sounds about like me and my life these days.

Hey it’s worth a shot.  And I really do want to have a record of the farmhouses that really make my heart go pitter patter.

So, without further ado, this week’s feature…

20130403_161415

I’ve had an eye on this house for some time.  If it weren’t so close to the noise of a neighboring highway I would have looked up the records and owner by now since it has been in this sorrowfully abandoned state for a few years.  I just wanna wrap it up in a big hug of vinegar and Windex and sandpaper and fresh white paint and love!

Oh, farmhouses.  They have the same power as baby cows to evoke the “Awwwww!” from me at first sight and hold my attention until my neck hurts from watching them go by.  Am I the only one that is drawn to the run down ones?  The pristine historical homes on the main drag in town hold no such appeal for me.  I <3 a fixer.
